Bespoke design for 11-unit residential block on a triangular shaped parcel of land which was formerly used as a Dental practice in a built up residential area in Coventry.

The design proposal focuses on the shape of the plot and the exterior lines of the neighbouring houses by the street. A wedge-shaped layout was formed with a sloping roof whose highest point is at the corner of the site at a junction creating a new landmark for this area. The lowest point is by the neighbour’s garden to allow for light into the garden.

Each flat has its own private outdoor area which is an important part of the design. There is a combination single floor flats and maisonettes (two storey) which are all linked to a private internal communal area. The higher-level flats have their private outdoor area within the roof space.  The colour and texture of the building is like the wall finishes of the surrounding houses so that it blends in with the local context.

Planning permission was approved.
