SPALDING BUNGALOW
TYPE: DWELLING
STATUS: RIBA STAGES 1-3
ROLE: LEAD ARCHITECT
Extension to two-bedroom bungalow on the outskirts of Spalding in the
countryside. The plot was quite large which enabled more flexibility in terms of the design.
The design proposal is to add two smaller hipped roof structures to mimic the existing bungalow roof creating a courtyard and more views out onto the garden and the countryside. The new hipped roof structures accommodating a lounge on one end and master bedroom at the other end were connected to the existing building by a flat roof structure with a parapet which also incorporated a utility room at one end and an en-suite for the main bedroom at the other end.
The existing bungalow is to be reconfigured creating an open plan kitchen and dining area which faces the courtyard and two bedrooms towards the front with a bathroom in the middle. Two front doors were relocated at either side of the front building.
Planning permission was approved.
